MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Greetings Chargers!

I want to recognize Rebecca and Bill Haley for coordinating Monday's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service!  I want to thank all of our volunteers and everyone who made a donation to support the great cause!  Collectively, we sorted and organized your donations...dental hygiene products, pajamas, stuffed animals, and books to create bags that were individualized by child (gender/grade/size).  We even had parents step up and purchase additional pajamas after the day of service to be sure all students received the right size!  How amazing!  The 111 child-specific bags will be presented this Friday to a school in West Chester that serves students with significant needs.  THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

As I am sure you know, the weather has definitely turned colder and colder.  Please continue to send your children with a warm coat and hat/gloves.  Although we've had to have indoor recess lately, we will try to get them outside as often as we can.

Finally, next Monday is a 1/2 day for students.  We will see what happens with the impending snow storm coming our way!

As always thanks for your support!

Mr. Shawn Dutkiewicz

CHARGER eNEWS

January 4, 2016

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Greetings Chargers and Happy New Year!

I hope that you and your family enjoyed a safe and relaxing holiday break!  Of course your kids returned to CFE today...some a bit sleepier than usual...some sporting new clothes and shoes...but all excited to see their friends and teachers and maybe...just maybe...ready to get back to learning new things.  It is great to have smiling faces and little feet back in our hallways and classrooms!

The weather has finally caught up with the season and we traditionally send our students outside for recess unless the temperature and windchill fall below 20 degrees.  We strongly encourage that you send your child to school with a warm winter coat and hat/gloves as well.  We greatly appreciate your support with this daily challenge!

Our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is coming up...January 18th!  This is a great opportunity to teach your child the experience and value of service to our community.  Huge thanks to Rebecca Haley and our PTO for organizing this year's event.  The flyer (attached) explains the details regarding our collection process, service day,  and where the donations will be delivered.  Your time and donations are greatly appreciated!

MLK Sign-up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090545abaa28a02-pajama

Friendly Reminder regarding Service: Many PTO positions remain open for next school year.  Our Fall Festival and Art Show for example will both have leadership vacancies following this school year. Organizing and facilitating a major PTO event may seem like a great challenge.  Often parent volunteers who oversee these events work collaboratively as a team, so tasks are distributed and the event is supported on many levels.   Please consider getting involved in some of the great traditions here at CFE!  Without parent involvement and volunteers, we wouldn't be the school that we are today.  If you are interested in supporting and serving on the PTO, please e-mail Heather Marshall and Vivian Lee, PTO Co-Presidents with your interests.

As always thanks for your support!
