Charger eNews - June 13, 2017

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Greetings Chargers!

It's hard to believe...this is our final eNews for the year!  It's been a great school year and I want to thank you for your tremendous support of our wonderful school!  We all feel very fortunate to serve the Chadds Ford community and as much as summer is a nice break, we will miss your children in our hallways and classrooms every day!  I want to thank our PTO for their amazing efforts!  Winston Churchill once stated, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."  In my opinion, volunteering and working to support our school is a phenomenal way to give back and help us to provide the best experience possible for all of our students. Thank you again to our tremendous PTO board and everyone who volunteered time at CFE this year!

SAVE THE DATE!  Our Sneak-A-Peek and Parent Orientation will once again occur on the same day.  We have made some changes in our logistics to hopefully improve the overall experience.

The end of a school year is usually exciting and fun, but also bittersweet for some of our students.  This may or may not be true for our 5th grade students who will soon be leaving CFE for middle school.  Most of our 5th grade friends have been here for 6 years and it is always tough to see them leave CFE.  For that reason, we have a few things lined up to make their final weeks extra special.  On June 14th, 5th grade will have a breakfast and yearbook signing, a staff versus 5th grade kickball game, and right before our final dismissal of the year, we will have an all school CLAP OUT for them.  We hope that they have made memories that will last forever.

Also, our summer STEM Camps are still open for registration (see attached flyer)!  These camps are open to all current 2nd-5th grade students. Check out the links below for more information.

Finally, for those who like to plan ahead and like to avoid shopping, you can order your SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR NEXT YEAR. Click this link for details on how to order all your school supplies for the 2017/2018 school year.  They will be ready for your child's first day of school!!!

Students will have the option of donating any remaining school supplies from this school year to the students at our sister school, Mitchell Elementary, for their upcoming school year.  If you would prefer that your child brings remaining school supplies home with them, please inform the child's teacher or inform your child of your wishes.  Thanks so much for your consideration!

As always, thank you for your support and have a great summer!!!

Best regards,

Shawn Dutkiewicz, CFES Principal
