Charger eNews - June 7, 2017

Greetings Chargers!

I want to thank all of our parent volunteers who supported Field Day last week!  We were so fortunate to have beautiful weather.  As always, the kids seemed to have a blast!

This Thursday, June 8th we will have our Annual Awards Ceremony where we will recognize Perfect AttendanceGood Citizenship, and Resilience. If your child will receive the Citizenship Award or the Resilience Award, your child's teacher will contact you to make you aware and invite you to the ceremony.   Due to the numerous Perfect Attendance Award recipients, we are not informing parents if their child will receive this award.  If you are unsure of your child's attendance, you are welcome to contact our office to check his/her record.

Also on Thursday, June 8th, we will have our First in Math Celebration to recognize our students for their efforts this year and to see if we achieved our 1,250,000 Sticker Challenge as a school!  Exciting stuff!  Based on the number of stickers each student earned, they will receive a certificate to recognize their efforts.  Certainly there will be many other classroom and grade-specific end of year events and celebrations.

The end of a school year is usually exciting and fun, but also bittersweet for some of our students.  This may or may not be true for our 5th grade students who will soon be leaving CFE for middle school.  Most of our 5th grade friends have been here for 6 years and it is always tough to see them leave CFE.  For that reason, we have a few things lined up to make their final weeks extra special.  On June 14th, 5th grade will have a breakfast and yearbook signing, a staff versus 5th grade kickball game, and right before our final dismissal of the year, we will have an all school CLAP OUT for them.  We hope that they have made memories that will last forever.

Also, our summer STEM Camps are still open for registration (see attached flyer)!  These camps are open to all current 2nd-5th grade students. Check out the links below for more information.

As always, thank you for your support and enjoy the final days of our school year!

Best regards,

Shawn Dutkiewicz, CFES Principal
